The recording of Someday

It only took a few months to write the songs, but almost a year to finish the EP.

We started writing new songs directly after releasing Hallonbergen 6 A.M., and within a few months we knew what songs would be on the second EP.

We began recording in September 2018, starting first with a rough sketch of each song and then we overdubbed the final takes, each instrument at a time. As we only had two hours of recording time each session (usually once every week) it took four months to finish.

We recorded everything by ourselves at home; we use a few different microphones (AKG, Oktava, ADK) plugged directly into an audio interface (Antelope Orion) and we edited in Avid Pro Tools. We’ve got a very portable setup which is really nice and it makes it easy to record whenever we have the time.

The mixing began in January 2019 and by April we had the files ready for mastering.

We are really satisfied with the result: Someday. Hope you enjoy it too.
